First time camping here (just a weekend trip). I'm very surprised at how nice it is. Stayed at site 55. Very level and clean site, not very deep but more than big enough for our camper. We picked this park because of the paved sites and it's about 45 minutes from home. Makes for a perfect weekend getaway. Will defiantly be coming back!! ⛺️
Camped here in a travel trailer with another couple who camped on the site next to us. The site driveways aren't very deep, but they are asphalt and were plenty big enough and level for our 18' trailer. The sites were nicely wooded (we camped on sites 46 and 49) and there were woods between each site which added privacy. The bathrooms were modern and clean. The camp host family was very friendly and served cups of coffee and hot cocoa each morning. The campground was quiet at night. There are plenty of hiking trails for more advance hikers, or walk the campsite ciricles themselves and stay on the asphalt for an easier hike. Session Lake is gorgeous as is the surrounding terrain. It was October when we were there, so we didn't rent any kayaks or swim in the lake. It was a very relaxing weekend, and we'll definitely go back again!
Level pads with lots of shade. Clean restrooms. Friendly staff. Nice beach but you have to drive or it's a long walk. We loved Jump Island.
Absolutely loved staying here for a long weekend. Such awesome amenities and great variety of activities. Especially enjoyed the disc golf course and Sessions Hiking Trail. Pretty full on weekends but weekdays are more sparse for neighbors.
The real reason for 5 stars, is for putting up with my huge, obnoxious family for a whole weekend every year for more than 20 years. Every year since before I was born, we held a huge, family reunion/campout/cookout here for an entire weekend (My mom is the youngest of 12, so it's a lot of people). We're loud, some of us get very drunk, and we cause trouble. Thank you for not kicking us out every year, even though that's what you probably should have done for the sanity of the other visitors and campers.
Cozy, great for camping. The bathrooms are clean, and the staff is friendly. Activities like hiking, horseback riding (bring your own horse), fishing and swimming are enhanced by the impressive natural beauty of the state park.
